Top 5 Reasons My New Laptop is Better Than Our Old Computer

1. I actually have sound on my laptop. Our computer hasn't had sound on it for about a year. Somehow our kids erased the soundcard and we haven't been able to get it working. Now I can hear everyones great music on their blogs. I am also very excited to listen to music on itunes before I purchase it. Yeah!!!
   
2. It doesn't take my pictures 10 mins. to download. I guess I thought that was normal. It's not! I loaded 120 pictures off my camera onto my laptop in about 30sec.
   
3. I can blog in bed while watching TV. So fun!!!
   
4. I can do 10x's more things in ½ the time.
   
5. It's red and my hubby gave it to me!!!

I love My New Laptop!

My new computer is so much fun. I am sitting here watching Amazing race (that I taped a few days ago)and blogging. So Fun! We also got a wireless printer and I can hit print from my laptop and it prints in the office. Technology is so amazing.

Back From The Cabin

We're back from the cabin and we had a great time. It was so relaxing and it's always nice to be away for a few days. It has been snowing like crazy here in I.F. and at the cabin. We have over a foot in I.F. and there was over 2 feet at the cabin (and it was still snowing when we left) It was so pretty to sit at the cabin and look out the window and only see trees covered in snow. Nature is so beautiful. The girls had fun playing in the snow with their Grandma and Dad. Before we left for the cabin, we discovered Donevan's original Nintendo and we took it up to the cabin with us. We ended up playing Super Mario Bros. a lot. It was really fun. We watched a few movies too. I slept in both mornings, and that was great!

 

I took my new computer up to play around with. I didn't have internet service there, but I was able to check it out a little bit and I love it. It allows me to do a post in Microsoft word and then it sends it directly to my blog. I am trying it for the first time now, so we'll see how it works.

 

Hope everyone has had a great holiday. I love Christmas, but I am sure ready to get back into our regular schedule. It seems like the entire month of December has just been so crazy.

Off To The Cabin!

We are off to the cabin for a few days. The cabin is so relaxing and we can't wait to enjoy a few days of having Dad off of work and to not have to do anything! We got a huge snow storm Christmas Eve and I am sure it is just georgous at the cabin. The kids will have a blast playing in the snow and we can just RELAX. Yeah!!!

A Christmas To Remember!!!

As I am reflecting on this Christmas, thinking of all the highlights, I find myself an emotional wreck. This year, it wasn't just today that was so spectacular, it was this entire Holiday season. We have tried to implement tradition and fun into our little family in the past, and this year was crammed with all of that and more. With three 7 year olds and a new baby boy, it seems like this is definitely a Christmas to remember.

Christmas Eve we had fun eating Chinese Food (a strange yet incredible Payne family tradition), wrapping gifts, delivering gifts to some less fortunate families, reading Christmas stories, etc. I think the best part of the night was delivering gifts to 5 families. We would place the gifts on the doorsteps, knock and run as fast as we could to our getaway car. It was a lot of fun and especially to think about these children receiving these surprises and how excited they must have been. I think after this evening and two deliveries to a trailer park earlier in the weekend, my girls are feeling very fortunate and blessed...and I am too. It really feels good to help others during the holidays and I hope the feelings we have now will continue throughout the year and we can have other opportunities to help those in need.

It is such a magical time for my girls. They really believe in Santa and believe in magic! Donevan and I found ourselves getting little sleep last night trying to prepare every little detail to be perfect for the morning. One thing you must know about Donevan is that he is a kid at heart. He never sleeps on Christmas Eve because he is always so excited with anticipation. I have heard from his family that this is the way he's been since a small child.

We woke up to the sound of three little girls with such joy and excitement in their voices. "Santa came and we got gold paper" (gold paper means you were extra special that year). Then we heard, "He ate the cookies and he drank his milk." Then they looked outside and saw reindeer prints and Santa had left behind in the snow three silver bells from his sleigh. It was so fun to hear the girls giggle with excitement!!!

We spent all morning opening gifts. Santa brought Asheligh a pink mp3 player. Brittany got a scooter w/ puppies on it and Caitley got a green gameboy. They have all been thrilled all day with their gifts. We got them each new bedding and they opened many gifts from Grandmas and Grandpas, cousins, and eachother. It just seemed to never end! Little DJ got some cute clothes and some fun new toys to entertain him. Grandma and Grandpa Neider spent the morning with us and it was such a treat to have them here!

Doneven surprised me like he does each year! This year he bought me a red laptop. I was so surprised and very excited. Our computer is ancient and so slow. Not to mention that the sound doesn't work on it and many many more problems. I am very excited to get it up and running!

This has been a wonderful Christmas! I don't want the memories of it to fade. Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

Brittany and Rudolph

If you know Brittany, you know that she is an animal lover. All she wanted this year from Santa was to meet Rudolph. So cute and innocent. She didn't care about presents or anything else, she was just obsessed with meeting Rudolph. So, after many incidents with tears, we finally talked her into the understanding that wasn't possible. But, she did get a picture of the REAL Rudolph in her stocking and a letter from Santa and Rudolph. She is very excited!

Margo and Kenny (Donevan's parents) got all their children and grandchildren these cute sweatshirts for Christmas. They gave them out at our little family Christmas party this weekend. We had a great time at Shawn and Jeanine's!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We are having a beautiful snow storm this evening. It's cold and it's windy, but it's pretty. It seems like the month of December has just flown by. I have been so busy with getting ready for the holidays, the girls birthday, a sick baby, no sleep, work parties, ballet recitals, singing concerts, a huge neighborhood party at our house, and the list just goes on and on. This is my excuse for being a horrible blogger this month. I have to say Thanks to my loyal viewers because I know you are still checking daily to see if I have posted anything new.

Last weekend we had a great party at our house. We had a great turn out of about 35 couples (no kids). We had some incredible food and a yummy slush punch and a great chocolate fountain. Yummy! I started a neighborhood tradition where we all donate $ or gifts to some families in need in our community. We collected a good amount of money for our first year doing it. Tonight my family went out and bought gifts for 5 families in need this year. We had cart fulls of toys and food and wonderful gifts. It was a lot of fun and my girls just love doing it. We have done this each year we've been married, but this year we are doing it in a larger capacity with neighbors help. We will deliver the gifs on Christmas Eve. Thank you so much for all the donations. There will be a lot of kids and parents very grateful this Christmas. This is the true meaning of Christmas!!!

We have had fun with the kids the past few weeks reading Christmas stories and talking about the Birth of Christ. We have been doing an advent calendar and counting down the days. My very talented sister in law, Beth, made the girls these darling Christmas pillow cases. They have these little pockets on them and each night if the girls were good that day, Santa's elves come and leave them a surprise in the pocket while they are sleeping. The girls just love this. It's a super cute idea. I will have to post a picture of the pillowcases. They are so darling. The girls truely Believe in Santa. They have told us about kids on the bus saying he's no real, but they believe. It's so cute. It's a really fun age.

Well we are off to Utah tomorrow for a cousins wedding. We are also having a Neider Christmas party which should be lots of fun. My girls are so excited to go down and be with cousins and exchange gifts. We'll come back on Sunday, just in time to prepare for Christmas day. I'm glad I will have Monday to do some last minute stuff, especially wrapping.

I love Christmas time. I love that I have my own little family to start traditions with a celebrate in our own home. Waking up Christmas morning and watching our children so excited is such a highlight. I'm also married to a total kid at heart who can never sleep on Christmas Eve. We usually stay up half the night just getting everything ready for the morning. It's so much fun. I love being a Mom!

I BIN Good!

This is Ashleigh's letter to Santa. I love "I bin good." And I also love that she wrote B.F.F. She is such a girly girl. Well the days of buying them gifts from the dollar store are long gone. We have gotten away with that in the past, but not this year. Santa is bringing and ipod for Ashleigh, a razor scooter for Brittany and a green gameboy for Caitley. Santa brings one gift for each child to our house. If they have been really good during the year, he wraps it in special gold wrapping paper. They will also have gifts from eachother, Mom and Dad, grandparents and cousins. It's always a lot and every year we say we are going to do less and we always end up spoiling them. 5 Days until Christmas. We are all really excited at our house.

We had a nice visit with my parents last week. They were able to be here for the girls birthday and to see them in the Nutcracker and their TaVaci singing performance. It's always difficult to see them go, but we look forward to their next visit...or our next visit to Virginia. (hint hint, Donevan)

I'm coaching Basketball!

My dream is coming true!! My girls are playing basketball and I am coaching. From the time I was 5 until high school, my Dad coached me in basketball. These are probably my most vivid and exciting memories of being a child. While my Dad was here this last week, I quizzed him on all the drills we used to do and wow did it bring back a lot of memories. I know I could never be as good of a coach as he was, but I am going to try.

This afternoon is our first practice. I'm excited and a little nervous. I know everything about basketball, but I just don't know if I know how to teach it to 6 and 7 year olds. I guess we'll find out after tonight. Wish me luck!!!

P.S. Donevan is my assistant and I can't wait to Boss him around!!!

Busy Week

This is the week of parties. Wed. night I went to a baby shower. We went to a fun party last night where dinner was served. Yeah!!! No cooking. Tonight I have another little baby shower and then Saturday night is our Christmas Party Open-House. I have no idea if 10 people are coming or 100. My Mom and Dad were visiting this week. My Mom and I were cooking up a storm. We made pumkin bread and gave away 8 mini loaves and made two large loaves. We made 75 mini cheescakes and choc chip cookie dough. Donevan and I are working on the punch today and also a fun pastry that a friend makes that we just love.

Last night I stayed up until 2 am working on my Christmas Cards(125). After talking to others, I have come to find out that I do an excessive amount of cards. I love getting cards and love sending cards. It's one of my favorite things about the season!

Christmas Shopping! Well, it's going alright. My children have asked for some very specific things and when I say, "Oh that's too expensive or I have never seen one of those before." There response is, "Well Santa doesn't have to pay for it, or Santa can make anything". There going to mail their letters to Santa and I will post about that later.

Nutcracker

This is our third year of doing the Nutcracker Production. It was fabulous as always. The girls were in three performances this weekend. Wow are we all tired. I can barely move after late night practices every night this week plus the performances. This may have actually been the busiest week of my life. It was so fun to watch my girls shine on stage. They were beautiful and their costumes were to die for. They were definitely my favorite costumes they've had yet! I love the way my girls feel after accomplishing these performances. They feel like they have been apart of something big and they have! It makes me so happy to see them so happy! We have vases full of flowers around the house. They got flowers from both sets of grandparents and roses from their Daddy. So cute!!!

Ballerina Ashleigh

Ashleigh doesn't have to work hard to be a good ballerina. It comes naturally to her. She did a great job and smiled so big during her entire performance. She told us that she got stage fright and that her teeth were chattering so badly and she was about to faint. You would have never known, she did so fabulous.

Caitley really surprised me this year with how much she has improved. She was so into her part and making sure she did everything so precise.

TaVaci Singers

We managed to fit in a TaVaci Christmas performance this weekend too. It was so cute. Their costumes are so cheesy, but so darling. They sang lots of fun Christmas songs with cute little twists. They love this singing group and have so much fun doing it!

This isn't a great picture, but at least you can see how cute it is with all these kids in their costumes on stage. This is only about 1/10th of the performers. It was a great show.

Busy Week!

This upcoming week is going to be so busy. My girls are in a huge nutcracker performance with three shows this weekend and dress rehearsals and practice every night this week. They also have their TaVaci singing group performace Sat. afternoon and a dress rehearsal and practice two other days this week. I'm not quite sure how it's all going to work out, but I'm sure it will. Blogging will definietly take a back seat this week, but many cute pictures to come from performances. Have a great week!!!

Party!!!

We had a great birthday party! We had 13 girls and they all had a blast. First we all made our own mini pizzas. While the pizzas were cooking we played a fun game. All the girls sat in a circle and each started with a wrapped present. Then I read a story I made up about the triplets being born and everytime I said Right or Left, they had to pass the present that direction. It was pretty funny watching them pass these presents around. Then when the story was over, whatever present was in their lap they got to open. They thought it was pretty cool that they got to open a present when it wasn't even their birthday. Then we ate, the girls opened their presents, had icecream cake and watched Cinderella III. They got some really great gifts. They got some darling pj's which they immediately changed into at the party. Ashleigh got some fun Hannah Montana stuff, Brittany got some fun puppy things, and Caitley got her favorite Tinker Bell toys. They also got Hairspray the movie which they are dying to watch. They each got some cute sparkly purses. They got purses with dogs in them, a dry erase board (which was a total hit), disney monopoly, watches, puzzles, lipglosses, and so much more. They were spoiled. Thanks to all their friends for coming and having a great night.

7th Birthday Party

I Can't Believe My Triplets Are Turning 7!!!

Today is my girls birthday party. It's a PJ, pizza party this evening. They are so excited. Their birthday isn't until Dec. 11th, but with a crazy next two weeks, this was the best day to do the party...and the bonus is that they don't have school tomorrow.

Wow, how can my babies be turning 7! It seems like just yesterday I spent months on bed rest anticipating their arrival. I remember how surreal it all seemed. How could I...a 21 year old girl be having triplets? I felt so inadequate. I'm not ready for this, I thought over and over. Donevan was in graduate school. We had just moved to Ann Arbor and had no family or friends. Everyone he talked to at the U of Michigan told him to drop out and that he couldn't handle it. I don't know why in our minds we thought we could handle it, but we did. We had faith that it would all work out and he stayed in school. The girls were delivered during his week of finals and on a day he had an emergency root canal. Yuck!!! The day the girls were born I was already in the hospital. I had been in for a while because of preterm labor. Anyone who has preterm labor and has to go on mag. sulfate is a saint. That is the worst stuff I have ever had in my life. But, it worked and they say, everyday you can keep a premature baby in the womb equals a week in the NICU.

They came into this world on December 11th 2000. We don't tell them the order they were born in. So far, they still believe that they were all born at the same time. Ashleigh was born first and weighed 4lbs 1 oz. Caitley was born second and weighed 3lbs. 4oz. and Brittany was born last weighing 4lbs. 6oz. It's actually funny how random people will say to Caitley, "I bet you were born last because you are the smallest." Is that the stupidest thing you've ever heard? Really though, you might be thinking, well why did they name them ABC and that doesn't match the order they were born? Here is the reason. When they were in the womb they labeled them baby A, Baby B, and Baby C. Then they relabeled them ABC by birth order. Baby C in the womb was Caitley and she was our small one and we were so worried about. So, when she came out, she was baby B in birth order...and we couldn't name her Brittany because all along we had been calling her Caitley. So that's how that works.

The first year of their life can be described by these words
~Bottle, Burp, Change Diapers, Sleep, Bottle, Burp, Change Diapers, Sleep.........

They say in a babies first year of life you change aprox. 2788 diapers. That means we changed 8364 diapers in a year. Crazy!!! The most annoying question of their first year of life, "How do you do it" Well here's my answer. You just do it. You don't have a choice and you just do it. I do have a philosophy that I adopted when they were first born that I have lived by since. It's "Take it One Day At A Time". You can't worry when their a newborn what it's going to be like when they're crawling. You can't worry when their crawling what it's going to be like when their walking. And I can't worry today what it's going to be like when their 16. The other funny thing about their first year of life was bottle making. We had a huge pitcher...I think it was like 4 quarts and we had a line marked on it with a sharpee marker that showed how much water was needed to be able to dump an entire can of formula in and mix a batch. It was enough bottles for three days worth. Our entire fridge would just be bottles.

The Second and Third Year of Their Lives can be described as
~Containment
We just figured out how to contain them in one location and let them play together. They never had the "terrible twos" because they never got bored. That was nice.They were really good 2 & 3 years olds. I can't mention these years w/o the dreadful potty training. We did it one at a time and boom boom boom it was done. Well actually Brittany was a little stubborn about it and one weekend we went to Salt Lake and my sister Debbie kept telling her to use the potty and by the end of the weekend, she was potty trained. It was a great day at the Neider home when we didn't have to buy diapers anymore.

The Fourth and Fifth Years can be described as
~Lots of Fun and School(yeah, a break for Mom)

Everything is magical when you're 4 & 5. The girls believed in everything and were so excited about everything. They would say the cutest things. For example Caitley couldn't say "somebody" she would say "somtibody" We still say once in a while "somtibody" and laugh about it. The best thing about 4 & 5 is the glorious preschool and kindergarten. The girls loved school from the first day they went. They enjoy learning and especially being around friends. They've always been very social...a little too social sometimes.

~The Sixth Year can be described as Emotional

I say this not in a bad way. This has been the year of a lot of emotional firsts. We have had to deal with feelings being hurt at school, the outfit they just had to wear to school isn't clean, comparing of oneself to another, first crushes and all those things that begin the girl drama. Oh little girl drama. It has just begun and like I said earlier, I will just take it one day at a time...most of the time I refer to our family therapist. Ha Ha Ha. That would be their Dad. No really, their Dad knows how to deal with the drama like no other.

So that pretty much sums it up. It's so hard to believe that I have raised these three little girls. It's been so much fun and I have learned so much about myself and they are constantly teaching me how to be a better person and I love that.

If there is anything I could wish upon them it is that they believe in themselves! I want them to know that they can do anything and that they know they are a Daughter of God. I hope they will know their self-worth. I hope they will have strong self esteems and always know how beautiful they are inside and out. It's easy in a self absorbed, materialistic world for young girls to not feel good about themselves and I hope they never have to feel that way...and again we refer to our Therapist!!!

I love being a Mom. It brings me so much joy in my life. Most days I feel like I am just doing the same things over and over and that it's not making a difference. It's in the little things that my children do each day that I can know that I am making a difference and I am very blessed. I truly am very blessed!!!!!!

Wow, I just made my 100th post. That is crazyness, but I sure have enjoyed blogging.

Tooth Fairy!!!

The other day was one of those days when I felt like the worst parent. I forgot to be the Tooth Fairy. Caitley had lost a tooth and was so excited about it. She hasn't lost that many teeth compared to her sisters and was jumping with excitement about getting her $2. Caitley was sleeping on the floor next to my bed this night because my sister was in town and staying in Caitley's room. I woke up to the sounds of Caitley opening the container that her tooth was in and then with disappointment saying, "She didn't come". My heart sunk. I felt so horrible. How does a mom forget to be the Tooth Fairy? So, I had to quickly come up with a Mommy Lie. You know one of those lies that you just have to tell, but they don't really count as a lie. So I said," We must have gone to bed too late last night and she was already asleep." That was a good enough excuse for her and she was happy again. So that night, she was the first to fall asleep in hopes that the Tooth Fairy would come. She did and all is well in Tooth Fairy Land.

Go BYU!!!

We spent the afternoon watching the heated rivaly between BYU and Utah. Wow was the 4th quarter a nail biter. We were all wishing we were at the stadium watching it. We love those cougars and especially when they beat the U!!!

Great Holiday!!!

We had a fun Thanksgiving Weekend. We had lots of family in town and it was just a relaxing enjoyable weekend. Their were all 11 Neider grandkids together and although they range in age from 17 to 8 months, they all had a blast together.
Wednesday night we went to see Enchanted. It was a really cute movie, and my girls loved it. It is definitely a chick flick.
Thursday we had a great dinner and the kids just all played and had so much fun together. My sister Debbie and I spent the morning making her wonderful homemade roll recipe. They were to die for yummy. I made a couple of pies too. You can't have too many pies for Thanksgiving. We got a great late night Risk game in that evening to finish a great day off!!!
It was such a fun weekend and Thanks to everyone for making it so much fun!!!

When Multi-tasking Goes Bad!!!

I am such a multi-tasker. I feel like I am always doing 10 things at once. Whenever I only want to focus on one thing, I have to tell myself, this is what I am doing right now, focus and don't wander to something else. So today I was multitasking. I was unloading the dishwasher, talking on the phone, feeding D.J. lunch, starting on a grocery list and probably 5 other things I can't think of. Anyway, D.J. started fussing and rubbing his eyes so I knew he was ready for his nap. I took him to his room and put him to bed like I usually do. I closed the door and didn't hear any crying or anything. I thought, wow he's really tired, he's going straight down. Then I went on with the other 5 things I was doing. About 20 mins. later I heard giggling from his room. I couldn't believe he wasn't asleep yet. So, I peeked my head in the door and was blinded by the bright light that I hadn't turned off. My poor child was supposed to fall asleep with light shinning in his eyes. That's aint happening he was saying. So, I laughed at myself, turned OFF the light and he was out seconds later.

Can't Wait for Thursday

We can't wait for Thanksving. We are so excited for all our family to come up and celebrate with us. We love to go to the movies and eat alot. We love to play games and sit around and eat more.

The girls just keep singing this funny Thanksgiving song that they learned last year in Kindergarten. It goes....

"Oh my goodness the Turkey ran away, what shall we eat for Thanksgiving Day?" Then they ramble off all these crazy things that they are going to eat instead of the turkey that ran away. Kids say the funniest things.

Caitley is doing good!

Caitley had a lot of radiology testing yesterday and this morning. Everything looks good so far. They are trying to rule out all the bad stuff and hopefully this will just pass on it's own. She has felt a lot better the last 24 hours. Thanks to everyone who has been so concerned for her.

CREAMY CHICKEN SPAGHETTI
1/4 cup melted butter
1 lbs. chicken breasts or tenders
1 package dry spaghetti mix
1 can cream of chicken soup
8 oz. cream cheese

Pour melted butter into a crockpot. Add a layer of chicken, sprinkle dry spaghetti mix on top, more chicken, more spaghetti sauce, etc. Cook on high for 3 hours or until chicken is cooked.
In microwave melt together the chicken soup and cream cheese. (I just stirred softened cream cheese with soup). Pour over chicken and let it cook 1 hour or until sauce is hot, stirring occasionally. Serve over noodles or rice.

***This is a yummy new recipe. I am always excited about new recipes that are easy and have few ingredients. It is very rich and high in fat (that's why it's so yummy), so you can substitue with lowfat cream cheese and Healthy Choice Cream of Chicken. I served it over spaghetti, but I think angel hair pasta would be even more delicious. My family really enjoyed it today and I love crock pot recipes. They are so easy.

Decorating The Tree

We decorated the tree tonight and wow does it feel good to have that out of the way. My favorite thing about the Christmas tree is having it glow at night in a quiet house. It's so pretty. The girls loved decorating it this year. They were really into it and I let them do most of it. In past years they have been interested in the first few minutes and then want to go do something else. Not this year. They were there from start to finish. I will spend the next few days rearranging things on the tree. I will do this without them seeing of course. They have to feel like their work is the best!!!

Spaghetti For The First Time

D.J had spaghetti for the first time tonight. Wow, he loved it. He just loves to sit in his high chair across from his sisters. He is the happiest child as long as he is around people. He just loves to watch everything that's going on. But, the minute he is left in a room by himself, he gets sad. He's a little spoiled because that doesn't happen very often.

I love his dimples in this picture. When he was just a few days old my Mom told me she saw a dimple on him. I was like, "no way, I don't see it". She was right and I love them. They are sooo cute!

Does Anyone Have Any Advice?

So Caitley was doing great pretty much all evening yesterday. Then she woke up around 9pm with horrible stomach pains again. She was screaming and crying. When the ER Dr. discharged her yesterday he said to come back in 8-10 hrs. if the pain continued.(then he would consider doing a CT scan) So, as much pain as she was in, I loaded her up and rushed her to the ER. I had to pull over on the way because she got sick and was throwing up. I think the pain is so bad that it makes her nauseous. When I walked into the ER it was very crowded. They told me the wait would be atleast 3-4 hours just to get in a room. I wasn't going to sit there and wait when I live 5 mins away. So, I got their phone number and went home. I figured I would go back when the rush died down. She was in pain for about another hour at home and then fell asleep. She slept all night and has been perfectly fine all morning. So, we are on day 9 of this and we have gotten no answers. She's fine, then she'd doubled over for 2 hour in pain, she's fine, and the process just keeps going and going. Hopefully this is just a viral thing that will go away on it's own. It is just heartbreaking when your child is in so much pain and you have no answers as to why. If anyone has any advice or has had any similar experiences, please let me know.

Update on Caitley

Caitley had alot of pain this morning, so we ended up taking her in to the E.R. They did another x-ray and saw no blockage. They also did blood work and everything came back normal. Hopefully, her problems have passed and she will start feeling better. She has had a great afternoon and is playing outside with friends right now. The Dr. wanted us to come back in 8-10 hrs if she was still having pain, at that point they would do a CT to get some more answers. So far no more pain, so hopefully we won't be in the E.R. again tonight. Thanks for everyones concern. And a BIG thanks to Donevan who missed half of the biggest game of HIS year Michigan/Ohio State and missed a party going on at our house while we were in the E.R. Caitley loves her Daddy and has to have him by her side. I don't blame her, he's the best Dad.

Tonight the girls had their first holiday concert for their TaVaci singing group. They did great. They love this singing group soooo much and have so much fun learning new songs and actions, etc. Their little concert was at the festival of trees. This was the first time I had been to this event. It's a big conference center with tons of decorated trees. All the trees were darling. Santa was there and I think the girls were a little confused about this Santa. They still believe, but they were acting a little strange when they were sitting on his lap.

Poor Caitley!!!

Caitley was so sick tonight that she wasn't able to perform with her sisters at the Festival of Trees. She is so sick that she didn't even care. That means she is really sick because she said to me the other day, "singing is my thing"!

After violent stomach cramping and vomitting, Donevan took her to the urgent care while I took the other girls to their concert. We found out that she has a bowel obstruction. She was put on a liquid diet for the next 24 hours. On Sat. morning I take her in for another x-ray. If the obstruction isn't gone, she will be admitted to the hospital. Please keep her in your prayers. This is a child who cannot stand to even think about the hospital, needles, blood or anything even close. She's being a good sport, but I just feel so bad for her because she is in so much pain. This now explains her throwing up in Cleverley's car. (see story below)

Caitley

The girls were staying at some friends house last night while Donevan and I went to the temple. I called to check on them after we got out of the temple and before we went to dinner. I found out that Cailey got really sick and threw up twice....once in the Cleverley's car. Ok, this is a parents and childs worst nightmare. First off, cleaning up your own children's throw up is bad enough, but cleaning up another childs....I owe Cleverley's big time. Secondly, the girls are getting to the age where things are embarrassing for them. Caitley said she was so embarrassed and felt so bad about it, that's heartbreaking. Of couse the Cleverley's were so nice about it and acted like it was no big deal. THANKS CLEVERLEY'S, YOU'RE THE BEST!!!

Too Excited For Christmas!!!

I'm breaking the rule and I am starting to put up my Christmas stuff. Debbie (my sister) and her family are coming for Thanksgiving as well as Donevan's siblings. I want to be able to have a great time hanging out and not worry about getting my decorations up. I think when it comes to Christmas decorations, we are a little over the top. We went and got all our stuff out of storage and we filled up my entire van (we removed all the seats in the back for adequate space)and we filled up Donevan's Tahoe. Crazy!! I have a lot of work to do, so I am getting started. I am so excited!!! I Love Christmas...and my parents are coming which makes me sooo happy!!!

Festival of Trees

I am sooo excited because tonight my girls are performing at the festival of tress in their TaVaci singing group. This is their first performance and their wearing their new darling costumes. Stay tuned for cute pictures!!!

I GOT TAGGED...7 Random Things About Me

1. I was born in the hallway of the hospital. I was my Mom's 5th child and she insisted to the nurses that this baby was coming. They kept telling her, "no, you're not ready". She kept telling them, "This is my 5th child and I know this baby is coming." I guess they finally took her seriously, but not fast enough. Thanks to my Mom for having me in the hallway. That couldn't have been very fun! The other interesting thing about the day I was born was that it was Father's Day. My Dad always says that I was the best Father's Day gift he's ever received.I think that's really special.
2. I Love Coca-Cola....that's why I have my own coke machine.
3. I Love to eat out. On vacation, I drive my husband crazy because I love to eat out so much. I love not having to cook and deal with dishes and clean up, etc.
4. I Love the Beach. I love the warm sun and the sand and the sound of waves crashing.
5. I am a messy person turned neat freak. I used to have the messiest room growing up and now that I have my own house with six people living in it, I am the opposite. I can't go to bed at night without everything picked up. I get grouchy when my house is a mess...just ask my kids and husband.
6. I am a night owl...not a morning person. You can call me at midnight, but don't call me at 6am. I love to stay up late...and I love to sleep in. That doesn't happen very often anymore with 4 kids.
7. I am a small town girl now! After growing up in a big city, I never thought I would like small town life, but wow was I wrong. I love living in a small town and everything about it. I love going to the grocery store and running into people I know. I love the friendliness of everyone. I love that I can get anywhere I want in 10 mins with no traffic. I love that everyone isn't in a hurry to get everywhere. I just love it. But, that doesn't mean I don't like to visit VA. I will have always have a special place in my heart for VA.

Look Who's Crawling!!!

Yes it's true. D.J. is officially crawling. He's not very fast yet, and is still learning, but he's started. Time to baby proof the house. Yeah!! Just in time for the holidays.

New Holiday Dresses!!!

Today the girls wore their new Holiday Dresses for the first time. They were so excited. They felt like little princesses and it was so cute watching them feel so special and beautiful. They twirled around the house before church and posed for their pictures. It's so cute to watch little girls get so excited about feeling beautiful.

I am also so proud of myself for being creative with these dresses. They came with black sashes and as I was looking in the store it dawned on me that I could put three different colored ribbons on them and they would be unique. The girls aren't really into wearing the same thing anymore. They turned out darling and I love them. I am also excited about changing the ribbons for different holidays.

I Think I Have A Clock Problem!!!

Do you think I have a problem if I have so many clocks in my house that it's taking the entire morning to set them all back? No Way!! I love all my clocks. I have almost 20 on my main floor of my house :) ....well maybe I'm a little clock crazy!!!

I was totally dreading the time change. I don't like it being dark so early, but last night was kind of nice. When it started getting dark, my girls started putting their PJ's on. They don't understand the time change, so I might be getting my girls to bed an hour earlier. I'm good with that!!!

GO BLUE!!!

It's always a good weekend at our house when Michigan gets a W. It was a close call and I am sure the neighbors heard us screaming at our house in the last few minutes of the game. We're getting ready for the big Ohio State game in two weeks. GO BLUE!!!

Finally It's Back!!!

I was so happy Amazing Race premiered tonight. I have been waiting and waiting. It looks like it's going to be a good season with some interesting contestants. So far I like the brother/sister combo that ended first tonight. I can't wait to see what's in store this season. When I started watching I yelled for Donevan to come watch with me. He laughed and said, "It's the 12th season and I haven't watched the 11 before. What makes you think I'd start now?" I guess it was just hopeful thinking on my part. Sunday Football always wins!

Happy November!!!

I love November. It's the start of the Holiday season. I love Fall turning into Winter and the smell of Christmas approaching. I love the idea of Family getting together for one great big meal to celebrate all of our blessings. Wow, do I feel blessed. I Love November...but not as much as December!!!

My First Concert!!!

I can still remember my first concert. It was lawn seats at Merriweather Post Pavillion. It was the greatest night ever. My Mom and Dad took me and my two cousins, Dawn and Brett and we had so much fun. I remember getting those glow in the dark necklaces and feeling so cool. I got a program that I looked at for hours after the concert. I'm sure it's still somewhere at my parents house. I loved Debbie Gibson so much and I'm proud to say it!!!

Hannah Montana Concert!!!

Last weekend was the Hannah Montana Concert. Wow, was it a blast. The girls loved it and it was well worth the wait. Since I have every one of her songs memorized, I guess I was a little excited too. Actually, I was soooo excited. I was excited to see her perform, but more excited to see my girls so happy.

The scene walking up to the arena was crazy. Cars were decorated with Hannah Montana, people had signs, and everyone was dressed Hannah Montanaish. There was a huge hot pink tour bus with Miley/Hannah all over it. There were tons of radio stations and contests going on everywhere. Her music was playing and it was quite the party.

When we walked in, the usher gave Donevan a set of ear plugs and said "Sir, you might need these." It was pretty funny because Donevan wore them the entire time. I guess that's what happens when you're in your 30's. Ha!!! I have to give Donevan serious props for even being at the concert. They're weren't that many Dads there. He is a trooper for wanting to take his girls.

You wouldn't believe the lines to buy concert T's. They were insane. A friend of ours who was at the show the night before gave us good advice and said to just have Donevan go get the T's while Hannah was performing. Wow, was that a genius idea. Otherwise, we would have spent hours in line. So, we had the girls pick out their favorite shirts and then Donevan bought them during the concert while the lines were not so long. These shirts weren't cheap either, but they had to have a concet T and I agreed.


Just imagine, thousands of screaming girls. It was like no sound I have ever heard before. The Jonas Brothers opened up for her and they were great. The girls were screaming for them like crazy. Then Hannah Montana came out and the place exploded. She sang a few songs and then the Jonas Brothers came out and they sang a few together. Then Hannah Montana turned into Mylie Cyrus and sang her Mylie songs. There were lots of costume changes, fireworks, confetti and dancing. It was really a great show!!!

My Big Bro Was On The National News!!!

It was so cool to see my big brother on ABC World News Report Tonight. He's the spokesperson for the D.E.A (Drug Enforcement Agency) and was interviewed on the latest huge steroid drug bust. Great job Rusty!!! You look great in front of the camera. Serious props for being part of an organization that makes a difference in this world.

Halloween Slide Show!!!

Halloween

Halloween was a blast. It's always so fun to watch the kids enjoy this day. I do remember the feeling and excitement of it all. This year we had a puppy, Hannah Montana, a witch and a ghost.

The girls woke up early this morning to get their costumes on and look perfect for school. I could barely get them to eat breakfast, they were so excited to get to the bus stop. I don't ever remember being able to dress in costumes to grade school. Maybe my memory is failing me, which is quite possible. I'm glad their school allows them to. They love it.

They had a parade at their school and they circled around the halls waving at parents and teachers. It was so cute. Each child feels so special. Then they had a class party the last hour of class. It was a great party with lots of fun activites planned. Great job Jana and Hilary. At the end of the party I did my witches brew with the dried ice. We put in the ingredients in the brew and then I had them close their eyes and while everyones eyes are closed, I put in the dried ice. Their faces were totally amazed when they saw the smoke and bubbles coming out of the brew. The kids seemed to love it.

After school we rushed to Donevan's work to show off the costumes and trick or treat to his secretaries. As always, they were spoiled there too. Then we rushed home to get ready for the girls TaVaci Singing group. They were having practice to get ready for their holiday concert and a little Halloween party. They had a great time there.

After they got home from singing, we hurried and ate some yummy baked potato soup. Then it was off to Trick or Treat. We let the girls go around the cul-de-sac and to a few neighbors by themselves. They were really excited about this and felt big. Then it started getting dark and I drove them around to some friends houses that they wanted to go to. We ended up in a neighborhood where it seemed like every house was giving away big candy bars. We will for sure remember them next year.

Finally they got tired and decided that they wanted to join Dad and D.J. at home to pass out candy. By the time we got home it was late and time for showers and bed. Wow, what a day!!!

They couldn't go to bed without laying out all the candy and sorting it. I can remember doing this every year as a child. We would sort it and put every different kind in different baggies. It was so much fun. The best thing about being a parent is we get to go through the candy and pick out the best stuff for us!!!

Now everyone is in bed asleep and Halloween of 2007 is almost over. What a great day!!! Can't wait until next year. Having kids is so much fun!

Love This Time Of Year!!!

Every year Margo (my Mother-in-law) brings us a big box of potatoes straight from her Aunt and Uncles Farm. They are the greatest!!! There is nothing better than an Idaho Potato. It's hard to tell from the picture, but these potatoes are huge. We will enjoy these all winter long. Tonight I made my favorite potato soup recipe. My family loves this and it's always a hit!!! I got this recipe years ago from my sister-in-law, Virginia. Thanks VA. This is a regular at our house in the winter.

Baked Potato Soup

4-5 Large Potatoes
2/3 c. butter
2/3 c. flour
1 ½ quarts milk
1 c. sour cream
2 c. crumbled bacon
5 oz. grated cheddar cheese
3 green onions (if desired)
salt & pepper

Heat oven to 350 degrees and bake potatoes until tender. Melt butter in a saucepan. Slowly blend in flour with a wire whisk until thoroughly blended. Gradually add milk to the butter flour mixture, whisking constantly. Whisk in salt and pepper and simmer over low heat, stirring constantly. Cut potatoes in half, scoop out the centers and set aside. Chop half the potato peels and discard the remainder. When milk mixture is very hot, whisk in potatoes. Add green onion and potato peels (if desired). Whisk well, add sour cream and crumbled bacon. Heat thoroughly. Add cheese a little bit at a time until it’s melted.

Caitley Carving Pumpkins

We had fun the other night carving pumpkins with some friends. It's a neighborhood tradition that we have started that we always look forward to. Caitley had fun carving. This year they were really into it, especially Caitley.

I think Brittany spent most of the night eating treats off the treat table than actually carving her pumpkin. She did work hard on her pumpkin once I told her to stop eating. I didn't get a picture yet, but on the other side she carved a "M" all by herself to represent Michigan. I think Donevan has sufficiently engraved into their brains that they should love Michigan Football.

Ear Infection ='s No Sleep

I just got back from the Dr's office and DJ has an ear infection. He hasn't been sleeping good for over a week now. He's had a bad cold and just been so congested. After another horrible nights sleep I decided to take him in. I am so glad I did. I've got antibiotic in his system now and hopefully we can all get some good sleep around here now.

I also got my flu shot today. Wow, I can't believe it's that time again. They say there isn't a shortage like there has been in the past. That's good news. Now all I have to do is try to talk the triplets into getting their flu shots. That probably isn't going to happen, but it's worth a try!!! Any good advice on how to get your kids to not be horrified about getting shots?

HANNAH MONTANA CRAZE!!!

The definition of craze is fad, trend, fashion, rage, enthusiasm, obsession, vogue, in-thing!!! This is definitely Hannah Montana right now. Her tickets are selling out at large venues all over the U.S. in minutes and the face values have atleast quadrupled. Everyone who has a daughter wants to get their hands on these tickets.

I was lucky enough to get tickets to her Salt Lake City Concert for next weekend. I was on the computer at 10am when they went on sale through ticketmaster and we still got upper bowl seats. It's insane. I realized I got a great deal a few days later when I spoke with a friend that paid $250 a ticket for her seats.

So, they just recently announced that they opened another Salt Lake City show the night before ours and that it would be a live taping. Everyone has been going crazy excited to have another chance to get tickets. My friends were online this morning right when they went on sale and they weren't able to get tickets. They sold out so quickly. It's pretty sad because all of these third party ticket companies are buying these tickets and marking them up to sell. People aren't even getting a chance to pay the normal price for these tickets. I feel bad for everyone who is having to buy them on Ebay or through other means. Good luck to those parents out there searching for reasonable tickets. We all just want our kids to have a fun!!!

Crazy Busy Week!!!!

Quads

This week has been so busy. We had fun early in the week watching the girls friend Brooklin for a few days while her parents went to Vegas. It was quite interesting feeling like we had quads. Doing four little girls hair and getting these divas ready for school in the morning was quite the challenge, but it was really fun. Brooklin was so good and we sure enjoyed having her. We generally have a no friends sleepover rule. This exception to the rule was a nice treat for the girls.



Activity Day Halloween Party

Wednesday afternoon I got to host a dress up Halloween party for 10 little girls. Wow was this a blast. We had some pretty creative costumes. We had a zombie, tootsie roll, witch, pirate, princess, cheerleader and some other great costumes. I dressed up as a witch and did a fun witches brew with dried ice and rootbeer. I put plastic bugs and spider rings and gummy worms in my witches brew. The kids thought that was pretty cool. We also had contests where the girls ate donuts from a string. That was exciting, especially since the weather didn't permit us to do it outside. My kitchen floor was pretty sticky. It was a great party and I think the kids had a fun time.



Surprise Trip To The Cabin

When Donevan got home from work Thursday night, I surprised him and had packed the bags and took him to his parents cabin. He was really excited. The girls slept at Grandma and Grandpas house and they got them to school on Friday. The cabin looked great. It was the first time I had seen the finished addition done on it. The new carpet was so pretty and made it so cozy. We love the cabin and it's such a treat to be able to escape to it.



Birthday Dinner/Surprise Party

Friday night the kids and I took Donevan to his favorite restaurant, The Sandpiper. We had a nice meal, but my stomach was in knots because while we were at dinner, friends were gathering at our house for a surprise party for Donevan. I was nervous about the timing of the party all working out and getting Donevan back home.
I had not told the girls yet about the surprise party. They aren't very good about keeping surprises. So as we were leaving, I took them into the bathroom and told them about the party. I didn't want them to freak out when they opened the door and there was a house full of people scraming "surprise". The girls could barely contain themselves from talking about it in the car ride from the restaurant to home. But, they did good and didn't ruin the surprise.
When we walked in the front door, everyone yelled "Surprise". Donevan was taken back and totally surprised. He had NO idea. My living room and kitchen were crammed pack with people. I was really happy with the turnout. There is nothing worse than planning a party and having no one show up. That wasn't a problem in this case.
I had gathered a lot of Donevan's old childhood items for people to look at and they were hilarious. We laughed as we looked at old report cards, childhood journals, team pictures, school dance pictures, family pictures, etc. Thanks to everyone who made it a special night. Donevan really enjoyed himself.

Saturday

Today was supposed to be our last Soccer game of the season. We were also hosting a pizza party at our house afterwards. (If you can't tell from my week, I love hosting parties) We woke up to rain and cold weather. The game was cancelled and rescheduled for Tuesday. So, we moved the pizza party to after the game. This gives me a few days to recover before having another party.

Wow, it's hard to believe that we're getting old. It's even harder to believe that we have been married almost 10 years and we dated for 2. So we've been together for 12 years of Donevan's 34 years. That is sooo awesome!!!

I'm putting this issue into the viewers hands. (You don't have to sign in to vote) Who does D.J. look more like? Everywhere I go, either people say he looks exactly like Donevan or he looks exactly like me or my family. Donevan's family thinks he looks like a Payne and the Paynes think he looks like a Neider.
