Look Who's Walking!!!

DJ has been walking for a few weeks now. It's pretty cute. He's still into everything. I don't remember this age being so hard with the triplets. I'm sure it was, but he is very active.

Things I'm Looking Forward To

With the crazy weather that we have had, I have found myself thinking about all the things that I am looking forward to in the next few months. Here are just a few things I have come up with:

What Is Going On?

Yesterday I spoke with my Mom on the phone as she described her front lawn and the beautiful cherry blossom trees and other flowers that are blossoming in Virginia. Today, this is what we had in Idaho. Is this crazy or what?

We'll Miss Daisy!

It's been an emotional week at our house as we've decided to give our dog Daisy away. We got her when she was a puppy and she has been a good dog. If you know me, you know that I am not a Dog lover. For the love of my husband and kids, I agreed to get Daisy 3 years ago. I am glad that my girls had the opportunity to love a Dog.

With a house full of busy kids and a husband that works a lot, I was always left with the responsibility of taking care of her. I know, this always happens to Mom's. I was taking care of her basic needs, but beyond that she wasn't getting the attention she needs. So, we decided as a family that Daisy would benefit most if we gave her to a family that could spoil her more than we could.

Our neighbors who already have 2 Beagles accepted her. We are excited because the girls can still go visit her whenever they want. We went over and saw her on Monday and she was so happy with her new family. She loved being with 2 other dogs and especially being able to run free inside their house. (something I didn't allow her to do) As hard as it was, I know we did what's best for Daisy. (and for my sanity!)

Gas Prices!!!

I am so sick of the high gas prices. $4.00 by the summer, ugh! I am lucky to live in a small town and I don't drive that much. Last Monday I filled up my tank and this afternoon when I got in my car, I had only driven 55 miles in one week. That's pretty good! I feel really bad for people who have long commutes daily.

Tonight on Glen Beck, he was focusing on the high prices of airfare because of gas prices. This is going to push me over the edge. If I can't go to Virginia this summer to visit because airfare is so through the roof, I will be really sad. I've got to buy 5 tickets. If anyone sees any good rates from Salt Lake to D.C. in July, let me know. I've been checking on a daily basis and can't find anything reasonable.

A Blast From The Past

This morning on the Today Show they were showing a lot of styles that are coming back from the 80's. I couldn't believe some of the things that are supposedly coming back.

Do you remember Tretorn Shoes? I had totally forgotten about these. I had a pair in plaid (yuck) Anyway, they're back and these little girls ones are actually really cute!

Some other things that are supposed to be coming back is acid washed jeans and colored jeans. They had a pair of bright yellow guess jeans. So funny! I'm not sure you will ever see me in another pair of acid washed jeans. I guess you never know what can happen with fashion!!!

The biggest blast from the past is the reunion of New Kids On The Block! NKOTB, which sold 70 million albums in the 1980s and early 1990s, has reunited and plans to release a new album and go on tour. That should be interesting. I guess they'll have a lot of screaming 30 somethings at their concerts.

TaVaci Singers Concert

I know that a few people have wanted me to let them know when the FREE TaVaci concert is. (with my great memory, I can't remember who wanted me to let them know) Well I have a date. It's Sat. May 10th at 4 pm at the Civic. This is absolutely my kids favorite activity that they do, so if you think your child would be interested, come to the concert and check it out!

A Little Sunshine After A LONG Winter!!!

Today was a beautiful day. We finally got a little sunshine even after snow fell this week at our house. I think I am coming to understand the term Seasonal Depression. We were realizing today that our first snow fall of the season was in Sept. and our last snow fall will most likely be in April. This is the ONLY thing I don't like about Idaho. I have to admit that the summers here are absolutely amazing. If you have ever lived back east or visited in the summer months (I grew up in Virginia) you know that you walk to your car from your house and you're dripping in sweat. That is so gross, but it's true! I love the summer in Idaho. You can have BBQ's and enjoy them. You can drive around with your windows down. You actually want to go outside. It's a concept that I have come to enjoy and love. So as you can tell from my blabbing, I am ready for summer. Bring It On!!!

After a week of the stomach flu going through our house, I was in need of some sunshine and time out of the house. I didn't leave the house at all this week. I did laundry...tons of laundry from sick kids and cuddled sick kids all hours of the night and day. So, today I got my much needed therapy with some girlfriends over lunch. It's amazing how a little girl time and good lunch can lift your spirits. Then tonight we had a nice date night. We had a babysitter...it's always nice to not have to put the kids to bed. We went to dinner with some friends. So nice!

I'm feeling rejuvenated and ready for a good weekend. To all my east coast readers, enjoy your cherry blossoms and beautiful April/May weather. This is the season that I really miss Virginia. Thanks to my loyal readers who keep checking in on me despite my slacking behavior lately when it comes to blogging. Hope everyone is happy and healthy. Love you all!

DJ's Sick

Yesterday DJ started throwing up! Yuck! The poor thing has just layed around. He doesn't want us to put him down and he just wants to cuddle. I spent the day rocking him as he slept or just layed there sick. So sad! I hope no one else gets sick. If my blog suffers this week, everyone will know why!

A Little Random Journaling!

I am so ready for Spring...and finally we've had some sunshine and a little glimpse of what nice weather could actually be like. I find myself anxious for summer, but in some ways, I'm not ready for the girls to be out of school. I am such a schedule person when it comes to my children that summer sometimes drives me crazy in that respect. The kids stay up late and we just fly by the seat of our pants most days. I always get this way when a change is about to come. I remember at the end of summer last year not looking forward to school starting. So my point I guess is that I don't handle change in schedules very well. We are really looking forward to doing some camping this summer, boating (attempting once again to teach the girls to waterski), hitting some water parks and just trying to enjoy the fun that summer can bring. Our absolute favorite tradition is 4th of July in Idaho Falls. We have vowed to never go out of town for the 4th. I can't wait to hear all the neighborhood kids out in the cul-de-sac and random knocks at the door asking if the girls can come out to play. I do LOVE our neighborhood and all the kids! It's so fun.

We have some big things coming up in the next couple months and life will be crazy. The girls are in a big ballet performance at the beginning of June. They also have their TaVaci Singers concert coming up. I'm super excited about that because each week they come home with some new song they've learned. They're doing Thriller and have some cute moves they're learned. They came home yesterday singing Bye Bye Bye from InSync. I've also heard them randomly singing Cotton Eyed Joe, H.S. Musical songs and Only in America by Brooks&Dunn. Sounds like it will be a very eclectic production. Another season of soccer starts next week. Donevan coaches an all girl team. I'm excited because I was the first to pick up the uniforms and I got pink. Yeah!! They've played many seasons and never been a girly color. They've also started begging to do Gymnastics/Cheerleading. I'm still thinking about it, but am concerned with how much they are already involved with. They also came home and said all they're friends are taking swimming lessons and why haven't they started yet? It's hard to find a balance in all this....and enough money to pay for it all!

Some other shocking things coming up are my 10 Year Wedding Anniversary in May. Wow! That is truly unbelievable. I am also turning 30 in June. How can that be? Enough about that, I might be having a crisis.

Well I am finally unpacked from our Boise trip. My sweet mother in law took home 3 loads of laundry for me after seeing how much I had. Then I spent yesterday doing 7 more loads...that makes 10 loads of laundry. And keep in mind, I have the big front loaders that you can get tons of laundry in. I can't imagine how long it would have taken me in my old washer/dryer. Another benefit of summer is less clothes to wash. No bulky sweatshirts and jeans. Just t's and shorts. Yeah!

Well I guess that is enough of my blabbing. For all you fellow bloggers out there, I love reading your blogs and seeing how everyone is doing. If you are just a blog looker and thinking about getting a blog....do it! Hope everyone is happy and healthy!!!

Boise Trip!

We had a nice trip to Boise for Donevan's Uncle's Funeral. It was a very nice service and we are glad we were able to attend. The girls sang at the funeral and did a fabulous job. I was really proud of them. They were super nervous, especially because it was mostly adults there.

The girls of course had to get their swimming time in at the hotel. They love swimming. There is something about pictures of my girls in a swimming pool that I just love. Their blue eyes just pop and their slicked back hair is just so cute to me.

We also popped in on some good friends of ours that moved to Boise..Ben and Jen Johnson. We talked for hours while the kids ran crazy in their house. They had so much fun playing with their three boys and we had a blast catching up with Ben and Jen. As we were loading up to leave around 7:30 or so, Donevan said, "Let's just go to dinner". So we went to Fuddruckers which was a total treat since we don't have one in I.F. That put us leaving Boise around 9pm for a 4 hour trip home. The kids slept the entire way and that was nice.

We've been traveling a lot and I am ready to just be home for a while. I haven't even unpacked because I am avoiding all the laundry that has to be done. I guess I'll try to tackle that tonight while watching a little American Idol.

Easter At The Cabin!

Our friends invited us up to their amazing cabin for Easter Weekend. Since our extended family wasn't able to get together, we were excited to have a little fun trip to take. The kids had a wonderful time and the adults just relaxed, played a lot of cards and watched movies. Oh and of course we always plan the best food! We also went to church in Island Park. A few people rode up in their snowmobiles for church. That was cool, but different.
We had a super fun easter egg hunt with tons of eggs...I think over 350!

While in Island Park over Easter Weekend, the girls had a blast playing in the snow.
They especially had a great time driving their own snowmobiles. They loved it! Brittany is our dare devil (no surprise their) and she isn't scared of anything. That can be a little scary. But, they loved these little machines!
