What's DJ up to?

The other day we were having family prayer and DJ started folding his arms. It was so cute. We didn't teach him, he just learned from watching each night. It's amazing what a 1 year old will pick up on and how smart they really are.
This is his new favorite toy. (Thanks Ben and Jen) He loves to ride it around the kitchen. It runs on batteries and he pushes a little button and it goes by itself. He is so boy!!!

Whoops!

I just noticed that my last post said that my weekend was "nothing but boring". I meant the weekend was "anything but boring". That wasn't a Fruedian slip, I promise.

Memorial Day Weekend!

We had quite an interesting weekend with lots of fun, surprises and mishaps. I talked Donevan into going camping (we've been planning it for months) even though the weather called for lots of rain all weekend. So we left Friday night and on the way up there our friends trailer fell off it's axles. Crazy!!! There trailer was stuck in the middle of the road, not drivable. So luckily, their brother in law knew how to fix it and jacked it up with a tractor (yes, only in Idaho).
We ended up leaving Sat. morning instead. The weekend was a little wet. DJ ate more mud than I think is humanly possible. The girls had a blast playing. They even entertained us by the campfire with singing. They loved getting rides on the four wheeler and playing capture the flag. We always enjoy lots of yummy food and snacks while camping....and there is always lots of card playing.
While sitting by the campfire one evening, we heard some weird sounds coming from the trees. We were all a little nervous about the sounds as they were loud and strange. We pulled the cars up and used the headlights to look into the woods. Our husbands were walking around with an ax and wishing they had better protection. After we were all sufficiently scared, we decided it must have been a raccoon or some kind of animal. We were off to bed, and then some of our trailers were shaking and things were hitting them. Luckily, my trailer was spared. After being tormented for a while, we found out it was two of our friends who had driven up to scare us. It worked and their well thought out plan was quite hilarious....after the fact!
Today when it was time to pack up and leave it started raining a lot...of course. Our trailer and truck got stuck in the mud really bad. Thanks to G & E who were there to help figure out how to get us out. Before this happened our friend was loading all his 4 wheelers and motor bikes into his trailer and cut his head really bad. It required 9 staples. Ewww!
This weekend was anything but boring. We had a fun adventurous time. We can't wait for more
weekends like this. Yeah for summer. I am sad to report that I didn't take any pictures this weekend.

SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!!!!

Today was the last day of school. Yeah...it's summer. The first picture is the girls on their first day of first grade. The second picture was taken today, the last day of first grade. I think they have changed a lot in one school year. Mostly, they are taller and they have big kid teeth now.
They found out who their second grade teacher is going to be and are very excited. I was really proud of them because they all got really good grades and got the highest scores on their IRI testing! Good job girls...I love ya!

4 Months

Today I had my 4 Month Dr.s Appt. I have been feeling a little bit better and have gained back 2 lbs. of the 9 that I lost last month, thanks to my zofran medication. I am still pretty sick in the morning and the late evening, but have been feeling good in the middle of the days.

In a few weeks we will find out what we are having. I really don't have any feelings or intuitions. I am wondering if it might be a girl because I am already thinking this pregnancy is way different than my last, but who knows. In the last couple of weeks I have really started popping out....way sooner than with DJ. I don't think I showed with him until 5 1/2 months. I will definitely let you know when we find out what we're having. Vote to the left on my blog to make your predictions. I still haven't voted. I am still up in the air.

New Dresses

Remember the dress that Ashleigh couldn't wait to wear. This is it. The girls felt really cute getting ready for church today. I forgot that I even have a polka dot dress too.

Bribery...good parenting, right?

This is our summer bribery to keep our children reading all summer. They have promised to read everyday in return for this water slide. We had beautiful weather on Saturday so we tried it out and it is so awesome. We had all the neighborhood kids over playing on it and it was so fun! Even DJ was excited about it....see him watching his sisters. He only wanted to watch, but I don't blame him. The water was freezing. This is going to be a great babysitter all summer long.

Virginia Here I Come!!!!

I am so excited because today I found a great deal on airline tickets to Virginia this summer and I booked them! I found tickets from I.F. to National on Delta for $288 each. I have been watching for months now and couldn't find anything out of Salt Lake for less than $400. I never dreamed I could get anything out of I.F. for such a great deal. This has really made my day...actually it will make my summer! I will be in Virginia July 9-July 22. YEAH!!!!

Ashleigh My Princess!

I surprised the girls last night with some darling dresses that I had found when I was out shopping. Killer deal of course...would you expect anything less from me! Anyway, she was so excited to wear her dress today. She layed it out last night and had her hair planned and everything. So this morning at around 6:15, I hear some noise coming from the bathroom. I get up to see what's going on (I have been dragging the girls out of bed at 8am every morning). The only reason anyone would be up this early is if they were sick or something. I open the door and there is Ashleigh in her new dress, shoes, hair done and she was brushing her teeth. She was so excited to wear that dress that the minute the sun came up, she was putting that thing on. I was too sick and tired this morning to take a picture, but I will take a picture after school. Do you ever remember being this excited to wear a new outfit to school? I do, but not in first grade!

A Little Rambling!

This morning Donevan called from work to say he was looking at the Smith's Grocery Ad and was telling me all the great deals. At first, I was very interested but quickly realized that it's before noon and any talk of food isn't a good idea. I quickly hung up and sprinted to the bathroom. Luckily, I made it in time. So today isn't starting off to be such a great day. Oh well! On a positive note, I have been feeling a little bit better. My mornings are still hard and my evenings are too. So, I do have a few hours in the afternoon that I feel half way decent. I can't believe how many nice things my friends and neighbors have done for me since I have been so sick.....dinners, snacks, drinks, watching kids, even laundry. Thank you everyone! I have great friends and family!

About 6 weeks ago my girlfriend Andrea walked into my house and looked around at the piles of dirty laundry, stacks of dishes, random things all over the house and said with sympathy, "Oh, Christine, I am so sorry". I'm sure the fact that it was the middle of the afternoon, I was still in PJ's, no makeup, hair a mess also added to her sympathy. I actually started locking one of my bathrooms because it was so dirty and I didn't want anyone to use it and there was no way I was in the state of mind to be able to clean it. I had hit my breaking point. My home was close to being hazardous. I picked up the phone and called a cleaning lady. I felt guilty for about half a second and then rejoiced that help was on it's way. I have been feeling so much better mentally ever since she's been coming and my family is happier too.

Donevan has helped as much as he can with trips to the grocery store. and other errands. His 50 hour work weeks among countless hours of service for others and coaching soccer doesn't leave much time for anything else. I forget most days how stressful and draining his job must be because he is so good about leaving work at work. I don't know how he does it, but some how he is always thinking of others. Yesterday he went and put weed killer all over some ones lawn for them because dandelions had overtaken their yard. He's such a good Husband, Dad, neighbor, friend, EQ Pres., Therapist, Michigan Fan(I had to include that), etc.! I am so lucky!

I am looking forward to the end of school next week! Yeah! No more homework and doing hair at 8am. I think the nice weather and having the girls home will help me to feel better. There is a mental part of being sick and whenever I am forced to go somewhere or do something, I always feel better. I am looking forward to a summer that is far less structured than our school year. No ballet, No singing. We even decided to not do baseball this summer. The thought of being in the hot sun 2 games a week was not an option during this pregnancy. Sorry girls! Instead they are doing a gymnastics/cheerleading class once a week. That's enough structure for the summer, right? The rest of our time we will spend at the pool, camping, and just good old fashioned playing outside with friends.

Hope everyone is doing well and have a fabulous summer. (that kind of sounds like a farewell post, it's not. I'll be back, I just can't guarantee when. ) Much love, Christine

Finally A Win!!!

Finally the Jazz pull through tonight with a win against the Lakers! I like the Jazz, but I can't stand the Lakers...well mostly Kobe Bryant. The fact that he won MVP this year makes me want to beat them all that much more. Go Jazz.....another win on Sunday would be a great Mother's Day Gift!

A Surprise For Me and An Announcement For You!!!

A few weeks ago I went to put on my favorite necklace and it wasn't in my jewlery box. This is a three diamond necklace that Donevan gave me a few years ago after the triplets were born. I love this necklace and I wear it all the time. I am very careful with it and always put it in my jewlery box. So, I figured either one of my girls had gotten it out and lost it or it fell off when I was wearing it and I didn't realize it. I searched my house up and down and couldn't find it anywhere. I drilled my kids and they promised they never touched it. I was losing sleep at the thought of my necklace being lost.

So on our little Anniversary Date this weekend, Donevan presented me with a little box. I opened it and to my surprise, he had 2 more diamonds added to the (missing) necklace to make 5 total. One diamond to represent each of our children. You may be wondering....5....they don't have 5. Well, yes this is my announcement. We are expecting. We are very excited and expect to have the baby the end of Oct. beginning of Nov. We have had an ultrasound and it's for sure 1 baby. We are so excited for DJ to have a little Buddy. We will find out in 6 weeks or so if it's a girl or a boy. That will be my next poll on my blog.

If you are a loyal reader of my blog, you may have wondered why I haven't been blogging that much the last few months. Well here's my answer for you. I have been really sick. I am barely leaving my house these days. I haven't gone to the grocery store in weeks. I can't handle the food, smells, etc. I can't iron Donevan's shirts because the smell of the steam makes me sick. The idea of cleaning....ewww! I'm usually screaming turn the channel on commercials that have anything to do with food. So, my life is affected a lot. ...and my family is so wonderful for understanding that Mom's not herself. My girls are so wonderful. They make me toast and bring me water every morning in bed. I then take my nausea medicine and have to lay in bed for 20 mins. or so before I can get up. If I do this, I can usually have a pretty good day. (meaning limited throwing up). We feel truely blessed and are so excited for the addition to our family. I'll Keep you all posted!

My Poll is Closed!!!

So my poll is closed and I won. YEAH!!! I never would have guessed. Most people really think he looks like Donevan. I guess we'll just watch him grow and see what happens. He's a cutie!!!

Flat Stanley Is In Idaho!

My cute Nephew from Virginia, Jackson, sent us a laminated Flat Stanley as a project at school to show around our city. We have carried him around to a lot of places. We will take pictures and send souvineers along with Flat Stanley back to Virginia to his 2nd grade class. What a cute assignment!! My girls were very excited since they have read Flat Stanley books before.
One exciting stop for Flat Stanley was the girls singing concert! They performed at two elementary schools this week and Stanley came with us. Caitley is holding him in this picture.

Thanks Jackson for this fun project. We will for sure have him back to your school by the deadline and hopefully he had fun seeing Idaho.

I'm Living In A Webkinz World!!!

If you haven't heard about webkinz, they are the latest craze around here. My girls won't stop talking about them and wanting to play with them. They're little stuffed animals that you buy and you are given a code that you can go online and start you're webkinz world. You name your pet and decorate their room. You're pet can earn webkinz cash by playing games or getting a job and you can buy things for you pet. It's pretty cute, but I can't get my kids off the computer. They want to be playing all the time and when they're not playing, they're talking about it. It's harmless fun, I only wish I was the one who came up with these things. Whoever did is making a fortune...I'm sure.

10 Year Anniversary!!!

We celebrated our 10 year Anniversary this weekend! Wow, we can't believe it's been 10 years. It's gone by so fast. We had a fun little overnighter w/o kids up to our family cabin in Ashton. We went to dinner on the way and tried out a new place. (Stockmann's) This new place is now our favorite place. We had peel and eat shrimp coctail which was incredible, steak, and amazing king crab legs. It was a splurge! We just relaxed and watched movies all weekend. There was still some snow up at the cabin, but signs of spring were atleast on their way.

Thanks to Margo for watching the kids for us. They love to spend time with Grandma, but 4 kids is a lot of work...so we really appreciate it! She also gave us this cute little anniversary basket to take up to the cabin!
